The South African Conference on Computational and Applied Mechanics (SACAM) is held every two years as a forum for presenting current developments in mechanics. This is the eighth in a series of very successful conferences that have been held in South Africa. Past SACAM conferences have received the attention of both local and international participants and have served as platforms to share, engage and network on state of the art developments in applied mechanics.
